MEDIA ADVISORY: 3rd SFG (A) hosts THOR3 Wounded Warrior fitness test
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, Oct. 8, 2014) - On Tuesday, October 14 the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) Tactical Human Optimization, Rapid Rehabilitation, and Reconditioning (THOR3) fitness facility will host a demonstration of their Wounded Warrior Functional Assessment beginning at 9 a.m.
This unique and physically demanding test is designed for Special Forces Soldiers with disabilities, such as amputations, to demonstrate their post-rehabilitation ability to return to full duty status able to deploy as a member of an active, Special Forces team. The test has been validated by fully capable Green Berets within the unit to replicate the physical demands placed upon a Special Forces Soldier in a deployed environment.
USASOC THOR3 Director Rob Eiserman, 3rd SFG(A) THOR3 Human Performance Coordinator Ray Bear and Green Beret, Lt. Col. Robin Pickel, himself a double amputee, will be available for comment. Pickel will be taking the test the morning of October 14.
