PRESS RELEASE: SOF (MISOC) Soldier passes away at residence
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, Feb. 12, 2013) – Sgt. 1st Class Tyffani L. Newby, 36, a resident of Boynton Beach, Fla., passed away at her residence in Cameron, N.C. on Saturday, 9 February.
Newby was assigned to Delta Company, 3rd Military Information Support Battalion (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C., as a platoon sergeant.
Newby entered the Army in July ,1995, where she completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. and advanced individual training at the Naval Photography School in Pensacola, Fla.
Newby was assigned to numerous duty locations during her service to include Fort Meade, Fort Jackson, and finally Fort Bragg.
Newby is survived by her daughters Vyctoria and Shelbi, her step-son Ethan, her husband Sgt. 1st Class Jefferson Newby, and her mother Laurette.
