Komorowski views training of Polish and US SOF

FORT BRAGG, N.C.  (USASOC News Service, Sept. 24, 2014) - The Polish Head of State, President Bronislaw Komorowski, accompanied by Maj. Gen. Piotr Patalong, the commanding general for Polish Special Operations Forces and other Polish representatives visited the U.S. Army Special Operations Command Headquarters Sept. 23.

This engagement was an opportunity for Komorowski and honored dignitaries to observe combined training between U.S. Special Operations Forces and PSOF and highlight SOF interoperability. The visit also offered the delegation an overview of the USASOC infrastructure provided by USASOC Commanding General Lt. Gen. Charles T. Cleveland.

Cleveland communicated the benefits of a special operations command and the importance of institutional command relationships within special operations headquarters.

Soldiers from 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) conducted a capabilities exercise (CAPEX) with PSOF from Sept. 15-23. The CAPEX included fast roping from a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter and various scenarios of breaching and clearing buildings.

The objective of this combined training was to provide both U.S. and Polish SOF the opportunity to train together and build mutual respect between the two respective forces.

Defining these capabilities is instrumental to SOF progressive development, and enhancing the Global Special Operations Force Network.
