MEDIA ADVISORY: USASFC(A) to remember fallen Soldiers

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, May 14, 2014) – The U.S. Army Special Forces Command (Airborne) and the Special Forces Association will honor Special Forces Soldiers who have died during the past year with a special ceremony on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.
USASFC(A) commanding general, Brig. Gen. Darsie D. Rogers, will read the Soldiers' names, paying tribute to them and more than 200 Army Special Forces Soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defending the United States in the war against terrorism.
Memorial Ceremony: Wednesday, May 21, 2014
Time: 9 a.m.
Location: Fallen Special Operations Soldiers Memorial Wall adjacent to the U.S. Army Special Operations Command's headquarters building, building 2929.
Members of the media who wish to cover the ceremony must register with USASFC Public Affairs Office by May 20 before 4 p.m. News media interested in covering the ceremony should contact the PAO at (910) 908-3947.
Please provide the number of news team members, video/still photographers, live trucks and other special equipment you plan to bring to the ceremony. Media planning live coverage during or after the program must provide that information to USASFC PAO when responding to this invitation. Special needs or interview requests should be submitted at this time as well. Media should provide after-hours contact information to include email address, so we may inform you of changes.
USASFC PAO will meet registered media at Stryker Gold Course on Bragg Boulevard by 7:30 a.m., May 21. Media who are not registered will not be granted access. The media convoy will depart Stryker no later than 7:45 a.m. due to the heavy traffic associated with that time of the day. USASFC PAO will escort live trucks in that convoy. If live trucks require earlier arrival, please coordinate with USASFC PAO no later than May 20 before 4 p.m.
