10th SFG (A) Soldier dies at home

FORT CARSON, Colo.  (USASOC News Service, Jan. 3, 2013) - A Soldier from the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) passed away in his home in Fountain, Colo., during the last week of December. 

Staff Sgt. Steven J. Padilla, a supply sergeant serving with Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) died to unspecified causes – an official investigation is ongoing at this time. 

Padilla, a native of Azusa, Calif., joined the Army in 2001.  His duty stations include: Fort Benning, Ga., Fort Lee, Va., Fort Carson and Italy. He has served a combined 49 months in Afghanistan on four separate deployments.
