Major General Kurt L. SonntagMajor General Kurt L. Sonntag is the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Special Operations Center of Excellence.
Maj. Gen. Kurt L. Sonntag is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Maj. Gen. Sonntag began his military career as an Infantry officer in 1986 and attended the Special Forces Qualification Course in 1991.
His most recent assignment was as Commander, Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Brigadier General Harrison B. GilliamBrigadier General Harrison B. Gilliam is the Deputy Commanding Officer of the U.S. Army Special Operations Center of Excellence.
Brig. Gen. Harrison B. Gilliam was commissioned as a second lieutenant in June 1991 following attendance at Officer Candidate School.
He completed the Special Forces Qualification Course in 1993, and served in a variety of positions within the 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group. His most recent assignment was as Director, Joint Staff-West Virginia, Joint Force Headquarters.

Brigadier General William B. Mason III, Deputy Commanding General

Brigadier General William B. Mason IIIBrigadier General William B. Mason III is the Deputy Commanding Officer of the U.S. Army Special Operations Center of Excellence and Director, Institute for Military Support to Governance.
Brigadier General Mason served as the Chief of Civil Military Operations for Third Army/USARCENT and as a functional specialty team chief in the 352nd Civil Affairs Command at Fort Meade, Maryland. His most recent assignment was the Commander, 350th Civil Affairs Command, in Pensacola, Florida.

Mr. Al T. AycockMr. Al Aycock, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Deputy to the Commanding General of the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (USAJFKSWCS), the U.S. Army Special Operations Center of Excellence, at Fort Bragg, NC. In this position, Mr. Aycock is focused on ensuring the execution of the organizational core functions and on the integration of institutional training requirements, budgeting, long-range resourcing, and force modernization.

CW5 Jeffrey S. Burmeister CW5 Jeffrey S. Burmeister is the Command Chief Warrant Officer of the U.S. Army Special Operations Center of Excellence.
Chief Warrant Officer 5 Jeffery Burmeister hails from Chicago, Illinois, and entered the military in 1984 after completing high school. His first assignment was with the 3rd Bn., 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he served as an Infantryman. In 1991, attended Special Forces Assessment and Selection and then the Special Forces Qualification Course, graduating in October 1992.

Command Sergeant Major Curtis D. ArrowsmithCommand Sgt. Maj. Curtis D. Arrowsmith is currently serving as the Command Sergeant Major of the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, the Army Special Operation’s Center of Excellence.
Command Sgt. Maj. David Arrowsmith began his military service as an Infantryman in July of 1988. Command Sgt. Maj. Arrowsmith served in various elements as team sergeant, company sergeant major, battalion command sergeant major, and as a brigade-level command sergeant major.
