Training/AIT at Fort Benning, Ga. Mr. Serrano served
as an Infantryman until his attendance and completion
of the Special Forces Qualification Course in 1987.

Command Sgt. Maj. Frank Gilliand was born on June 5, 1963 in Helmstedt, Germany. He reported to Basic Training at Fort Knox, Ky., in March 1982 with later attendance at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, for Advanced Individual Training. Command Sgt. Maj. Gilliand attended the Special Forces Medical Sergeant Qualification Course in 1985.
