A Glimpse Inside the New Face of Terror

In this issue of Special Warfare, Army Special Operations Soldiers are reminded of the need to study unconventional warfare as a means of evolving our tactics, techniques and procedures and of the need to study our enemy. As Sun Tzu noted, “It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.”
To that end, two articles focus on two of the most deadly unconventional enemies we are facing today: ISIS and and al-Qaeda’s elite arm, the Khorasan Group.
