MEDIA ADVISORY:  Three 98th CAB (A) Soldiers to receive Purple Hearts

FORT BRAGG, N.C.  (USASOC News Service, Aug. 14, 2012) –  The 98th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) will present three Soldiers Purple Heart Medals in a ceremony at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15 at the auditorium at the U.S. John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.

The three Soldiers, Capt. Shawn Jokinen, Sgt. 1st Class Arnulfo Benitez and Sgt. 1st Class Juan Cando were injured Jan. 3, 2012, while deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

FOR THE MEDIA:  Media wishing to cover the ceremony should contact the 95th Public Affairs Office at  (910) 907-5983 or email95th-ca-pao@soc.mil. Media should provide after-hours contact information, to include e-mail addresses, so we may keep you appraised of any changes to the program schedule.

Members of the media who wish to cover the ceremony must be registered with the public affairs office  by Tue., Aug. 14, 3 p.m.  Please provide the number of news team members, video/still photographers, live-feed trucks or other special equipment you plan to bring to the ceremony.  Special needs or interview requests should be submitted at this time as well.

Media representatives will be met by a 95th CAB (A) public affairs representative at 12:10 p.m. on Wed., Aug. 15 at Stryker Golf Course on Bragg Boulevard.  The media convoy will depart Stryker no later than 12:20 p.m.
